VIII Sunday in Ordinary Time (Is 49, 14-15, 1 Cor 4, 1-5; Mt 6: 24-34)
dominant theme of this Sunday: "God never abandons us, or you forget about us. The first reading of the prophet Isaiah gives us even a certain autobiographical ... God cares for us so that even if a mother can forget her child "I will never forget you."
• 1 / God forget? Impossible!
can not forget us because we were actually written by way of reminder, in the palm of his hands (Isaiah is always giving us this information ... autobiography of God: it was certainly one of its first secretary). And Jesus and so is the Son of the Father knows much more about his various secretaries, tells us that he even wrote all our names in a big book in heaven, "Rejoice because your names are written in heaven." Other than forgetting to write and rewrite our names: seven billion in two thousand and who knows how many centuries ago! But you realize: even our names written in heaven! And in the Gospel insists that we should not pre-occupied! Caring is one thing, is another worry! Deal is right, worrying is bad! Think a little 'less brothers and fly a bit' more ...
• 3 / Do not think about tomorrow: just the today!
not worry about tomorrow because it is more than enough weight now! If you load also those of tomorrow, we collapse the first time. And the more we are pagans, because of these things the pagans, not the Heavenly Father's children. "Consider the lilies of the field" spin and sew their clothes perhaps? Yet who is more elegant than a single one of them? I have never seen such elegance and finesse as in their dress. I do not even mean to fashion shows, fashion shows but I think if a lily, it would back all!
Now you go to re-read the Gospel for this Sunday and you will see that the solution to worry too much is just one: the abandonment to God never abandons us, we who make a great effort to abandon ourselves totally to him to let him the steering wheel of our lives. This would be the only way to escape the fear of tomorrow that surrounds us, as Don says this prayer Dolindo Ruotolo, ispiratagli by Jesus himself:
"Why do you confuse excitement? Let Me in the care of your things and everything will calm down.
